I grew up in San Diego and graduated from San Diego High School. I am fluent in my native language of Spanish. I have been in the education field for 30 years. I started as an Instructional Assistant, then became a preschool teacher, continued as an elementary bilingual teacher, and eventually became an Education Specialist. I have taught all grade levels, ranging from Pre-school to 12th grade.
I obtain my Early Child Development Associate Degree at San Diego Community College. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Master of Education with an emphasis in Special Education from San Diego State University, where I also became credentialed in multiple subject Bilingual Education and Mild-Moderate Special Education. During my Masters Degree at San Diego State University, I had the opportunity to study abroad in Avila Spain, where I had the opportunity to explore their Special Education programs and system.
These days I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling. My husband and I love getting together with our kids and granddaughter, to explore the world, celebrate life or just spent time together.
