Staff Bio

Thank you for taking the time to read my bio!

I am a San Diegan, born and raised.  I went to Green Elementary School, Pershing Junior High (not a middle school at that time!), and Patrick Henry High School (...It's ok; I always support Canyon Hills!), all part of San Diego Unified.

I went on to San Diego State University and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts.  Before I earned my teaching credential, I flew off to Tokyo, Japan to teach conversational English and TOEFL classes to people ages 4-70.

After 5 years in Japan, I returned with a big souvenir...my wife.  Actually, we married in San Diego to save about $20-30,000 on wedding costs.  I earned my teaching credential shortly after.

I've been teaching in the district for 24 years now, 19 at Canyon Hills.

My wife and I have twin sons, college juniors, and another son, a sophomore in high school.

I love what I do.  My students keep me in touch with modern pop culture, which is important for me because my main hobbies are collecting music, watching movies, reading (like all English teachers!), and traveling. San Diego is the greatest place in the world, but I love getting out of it, seeing other places, and meeting people who live there!
