Distance Learning Links

As a launching point for all in class, project, and extracurricular work we will use the Canvas LMS homepage.  Linked there, students can find a Table of Contents listing each of the learning activities and classroom instruction aids appearing in the order they are addressed during class.  Please use this Canvas page when instructed in class and at any time outside of school or to begin make-up or contract learning when missing school.

Staff Bio

I grew up in Western New York, just outside of Buffalo.  After 18 cold winters, I moved to California for college and all that San Diego has to offer!  Contrary to literary tradition, I’ve learned you can go home again...as long as it’s to visit in the summer.  My wife and 2 daughters love to spend summertime with my family back home.

The first 17 years of my teaching career were spent at Correia Middle School working, what I referred to as, “the best job” in SDUSD.  Leaving Correia several years ago to pursue my real passion, teaching high school in my neighborhood, has rewarded me with strong bonds & fun memories with students, great support from caring staff and an amazing community.  I look forward to meeting and working for the students and families at Canyon Hills this year!

I see my job as one built for collegiality and engaging & empowering young people through communication, understanding, and belief in their abilities.
